WorldWide Rap T-shirt

Around the start of September LMNZ asked me to design a T-Shirt to help promote his album Worldwide Rap

LMNZ' Album Worldwide Rap features 76 Artists from all across the globe singing and rapping in 29 languages. It's about unity and shows that no matter which social background or skin color one has we can all do something positive and creative together. They say that mice and elephants do not get along but you can see for yourself on the shirt that this is just another lie. This Design by Comix Artist Ritchi got a clear message: Say No to Racism! Peace!

Random Spurts Of Inspiration

Several discussions and ideas have been thrown at me (not literally, how would you do that? scoop out the idea from your brain hole and then fling it at me using some sort of propulsion device, or just hand power)

if you/we/us all can speak to various indie artists struggling to do some good like we are and gather them together we can lay it on the line and say 'we are gonna put this book out for people to buy, buy to order at first to test the waters, re vamp it if needed then put a mainstream book together to sell but if you want in you need to chip in a few quid/dollar (you would for advertising in a book only you get an add with the strip for free kinda thing) you will know people and i have numerous connections in usa including PLB comics who already do a similar book but with serious comics etc and candy or medicine highlight loads of indie strip artists which is a good resource (candy or medicine.com also shows them off). if enough people want to be seen they will pay for it.

it wouldnt really cost a lot to do a test book, you can do a photobox.com graphic novel for about 20 quid just to sell online, set up a website with the book. In theory it could be like a worldwide version of 'Viz' only it wont alienate people by being adult only with tit and dick jokes...more teenage tit and dick jokes instead, more of a market then HA

Thats the jist of what Russ D Toole who writes and draws Evil Ed and Nasty Ted eviledandnastyted.com

I think the way forward with RHS is to begin a regular webcomic, using the formula of if people really like the artwork, characters, stories etc they will by the collected edition when eventually RHS first collected edition goes to print.

Keeping RHS online initially allows for several things we can gain a much wider audience world wide infact! Thus creating more interest in a collected edition of the comic/graphic novel. Also to entice purchase of the physical copy other things will be offered with the RHS collected edition (physical manifestation of the digital form of comix) such as a usb key holding exclusive dj mixes, wallpapers by a wealth of artists and all sorts of goodies such as posters etc

So that been said a website will be coming soon to house all the online comix which will be a network of artists helping broaden everyone to a bigger audience by mass promotion by each individual artist and then hopefully their readers

Everyone will get as much out of this as they put in really and the more successful this project the more we can help each other

At the core will be crazy old me promoting everything until my neck gives out from sitting in front of the computer screen.

So pitch away comic series ideas, concepts, scripts, article/series, written works and stories

If you need someone to draw or help write hopefully we can team yall up with someone or all the collective can pitch in

I know I would rather work on my comic pencilling and inking and let someone else colour it all in so I increase my artistic production ten fold by cutting out the colouring process which is time consuming and neck hurting for me!

Using comic, articles and stories poetry and just philosophy, mixed media such as music downloads, videos, short films and even trailers for movies (which we can actually make using the collective mentality of all pitching in skills if need be) and so much more RHS will appeal to all spectrums and someone who came to read a poem could end up getting into comics

Also just helping the next generation and opening up something some small person (child sized) who didn't think maybe comic or other parts of the media creative areas could be a viable creative career path in life.

Ive learnt this from various times Ive run workshops or just chatted to people they have never seen certain areas as something they are, and rightly so encouraged to work hard in.

I was never told as a childsized enterty that maybe drawing comic would be a fullfilling life style choice and career path.

Yet I constantly drew Dennis The Menace in Primary School (don't get me into the dropping of the Meance and calling it Dennis and Gnasher) copying something is the best way of learn, assimulating and taking elements of that style into your own drawing creative style.

We all percieve things differently and there is no right and wrong way of drawing something.

Where is this all leading? Workshops helping give the next generation a place to showcase their work online and in print as kids rock they seriously do! I dont have any of my own but I get on easy with them! Maybe because I understand them on the same imagination level.

Before in lots of their cases it's crushed or slowly suppressed by the state and mass prodution line thats seen as main stream culture.

To quote the fantastic movie FAQ About Time Travel, we are not geeks or nerds but Imagineers (not an exact quote but they use the word Imagineers, which is used by Disney for their employees but we taking the word back from the corporation, OH 2d animation still is relevant durrr! took you how many years to relaise that)

Right enough words it's now down to you help make this awesome and in your community speak to the local media centre or hall or wherever you can maybe put on a workshop be it in drawing comics, animation, music

Im looking to start up comic and dj workshops in the whitby area for this summer it's about time we put inspiration and imagineering into others its a strange energy you get when someone says they really like your work, that drawing you just did or structure of words you just put one after the other.

All pitches please message of post below welcome the feedback and energy that we can all bring to project Random Hand Spasms and jiggifying the world to the resonence of creativity over the movement of small green pieces of paper (excert from HitchHikers Guide to The Galaxy)

Now just to cover myself anyone offended by anything then you shouldn't be as sticks and stones break your bones but....erm....how does the rest go....oh yes words no words never hurt me.

Shame the Catholic church didn't see that, a sense of humour is needed, laugh a little it's good for you just like that other saying about an apple goes, cause in some peoples cases they can't always get to a doctor so make sure you eat your apple and all other fruit your told to eat like a good little boy/girl/cross gender (cover all bases in this politically correct time)

Also 1000 bonus points to anyone who spots all the references and thoughts from the other free thinkers and comedians I have put in this essay/blog
